MARTIN, Circuit Judge.

Plaintiff brought an action to recover damages for personal injury she sustained in a fall while shopping at defendant’s supermarket. The case was submitted to a jury, which returned a verdict for plaintiff in the amount of $20,000 upon which the trial court entered judgment. We affirm.

The incident took place on July 21, 1977, in Chamberlain, South Dakota. Plaintiff was sixty-three years of age at the time of the incident and had lived for many years in the Pukwana, South Dakota, area. She had shopped at defendant’s supermarket on other occasions and was familiar with…
