This is a suit against the individual stockholders of the “ Dutchess Cotton Manufactory,” a company incorporated in December, 1814, by filing a certificate in pursuance of the act of the22d of March, 1811, entitled, “ An act relative to incorporations for manufacturing purposes.” Every association incorporated under this act, was declared to be, for “ the term of twenty years next after filing their certificate, a body politic and corporate.” The bill seeks to charge the defendants personally, for a judgment debt of the incorporated company, on the ground that the corporation…
