This is an appeal and a cross-appeal from a final judgment on a jury verdict awarding the appellant, Sean St. Louis, $72,241 in lost wages and $2.5 million in compensatory damages on state law racial discrimination and retaliation claims, brought by him against his former employer, Florida International University (FIU), the appellee here. Because we find St. Louis failed to establish a prima facie case for both racial discrimination and retaliation, we reverse the final judgment entered on the jury verdict.
