The offense is possessing intoxicating liquor in a dry area for the purpose of sale; the punishment, confinement in jail for fifty days.
Officers went to the home of Cliff May in the afternoon of December 18, 1987, for the purpose of making a search for intoxicating liquor. Entering the house through the back door, they heard a woman say: “There is the law.” They then heard some kind of noise inside which sounded like the breaking of bottles.
