[¶ 1] Cary Young appeals from the judgment entered by the Superior Court (Ken-nebec County, Studstrup, J.) on a jury verdict finding him guilty of gross sexual misconduct in violation of 17-A M.R.S.A. § 253 (1988), 1 repealed and replaced by P.L. 1989, ch. 401. Young argues on appeal that he was denied a fair trial by virtue of comments made by the prosecutor during the State’s closing arguments and that the trial court should have ordered a mistrial. Because it was not obvi ous error for the trial court to fail to order a mistrial on its own initiative, we affirm.
