FACTS
Plaintiffs George Washington and Edward Barnes started this proposed class action in June 1980 against Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation (“B & W”) alleging race-based employment discrimination in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. § 2000e et seq.) and 42 U.S.C. § 1981.
