All of these causes, except No. 589, were condemnation proceedings, brought by the Carolina-Tennessee Power Company against the several defendants for the purpose of condemning and acquiring certain lands situate on the banks of the Hiawassee River in Cherokee County, to be used by petitioner in connection with a water-power development or hydro-electric system.
