BACKGROUND

¶ 1 On May 27, 2016, Joni Ackerman filed a Petition for Involuntary Commitment of her son, Appellant Charles Acker-man (“Ackerman”), as an Alcoholic and/or Chemically Dependent Person pursuant to 11 CCOJ § 201 et al. In support of her Petition, she alleged Appellant Ackerman was addicted to various drugs, including methamphetamines and alcohol.
