The first sentence of section 1 of the act of September 30, 1885 (Acts 1884-5, p. 124), contains this language: “All deeds to realty and all bills of sale to personalty, where such deeds of bills of sale are given as sécurity for debt, shall be recorded within thirty days from their date.” Is this provision of said act still in force in cases where the competition is between contract liens and liens created by operation of law?
