Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the County Court, Nassau County (Mackston, J.), rendered June 30, 1989, convicting him of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, after a nonjury trial, and imposing sentence. The appeal brings up for review the denial, after a hearing, of those branches of the defendant’s pretrial omnibus motion which were to suppress physical evidence and a statement made by him to law enforcement officials.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

We find no merit to the defendant’s claim that his arrest was not predicated on probable cause.…
