Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Westchester County (West, J.), rendered December 11, 2002, convicting him of assault in the third degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

The trial court properly permitted the prosecution to cross-examine the defendant, if he testified, as to the existence of, and facts underlying, his 1988 felony convictions of burglary in the first degree and kidnapping in the second degree.
