OPINION

HATHAWAY, Judge.

This is an appeal from a modification of a divorce decree reducing the amount to be paid by appellee/husband as child support. The parties were divorced in January 1980. The decree of dissolution provided, inter alia, that appellee pay $250 per month as child support for his daughter. At the time of the divorce, appellee was working for ASARCO earning approximately $19,500 net per year. Subsequently, the ASARCO mine closed and appellee was laid off.
