PROCEDURAL HISTORY
¶ 1. Robert Triplett was convicted of exploitation of a child and sentenced as a habitual offender to serve forty years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC). Triplett was also ordered to pay a $50,000 fine. Triplett appealed, arguing the trial court erred in sentencing him as a habitual offender. This Court agreed—we reversed the habitual-offender-status portion of Triplett’s sentence and remanded solely for resen-tencing. Triplett v.
