ROVNER, Circuit Judge.

Irma Alexander (“Alexander”) is the daughter of Christen Crutcher, a woman who died while receiving medical treatment at Mount Sinai Hospital. As administrator of her mother’s estate, Alexander brought a malpractice action in the Circuit Court of Cook County against the corporate entities and individual physicians involved in her mother’s care. The United States removed this malpractice case to federal court because one of the defendants, Dr. Godwin Onyema (“Dr. Onye-ma”), was deemed to be a federal employee under the Public Health Service Act (“PHSA”), as amended by the…
