It has been said, “This world is a comedy to those who think, a tragedy to those who feel.” 1 The feelings of the protagonists in this controversy are ample proof of the truth of that observation.

This case arose out of a petition filed in the Circuit Court of Baltimore City by the Department of Social Services of Baltimore City, one of the appellees, by which it sought the guardianship with the right of consent to adoption of Lloyd Freeman, Jr., an infant and other appellee in this case.
