Fulton County property owners Mark and Judith Marani filed a class action against Fulton County, the Fulton County Board of Tax Assessors (“BTA”), various BTA members, and the Fulton County Tax Commissioner (collectively, “the County”), alleging that the County had improperly assessed property taxes without affording taxpayers the required notice and opportunity to appeal. The Mara-nis sought, among other things, to enjoin the County from collecting these taxes from them and other similarly situated property owners.
