This is an action brought by the plaintiffs, Fred and Ellen Connor, against the defendant, Thomas Weldon, in which it was alleged that the defendant had constructed and installed a chimney and woodburning stove in the plaintiffs’ home pursuant to a contract between the parties. That following completion of the work, there was a fire in the residence, causing substantial damage to the walls and side of the plaintiffs’ dwelling.
