ALTENBERND, Judge.
Sidney Davis appeals the denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus seeking an immediate release from prison. We reverse and remand with directions for the circuit court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit for Pasco County to transfer the petition to the circuit court of the First Judicial Circuit for Escambia County as a motion to correct an illegal sentence filed pursuant to Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.800(a). Although there may be some explanation, on the face of this court’s record it appears that Mr. Davis is serving a life sentence for a second-degree felony…
