The appellant in this criminal case appeals from his conviction of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver for which he was sentenced to five years in the Arkansas Department of Correction and a fine of $5,000. His sole point for reversal is that the court erred in refusing to dismiss the charges against him based on a violation of the speedy trial act. We disagree, and though the Supreme Court has already addressed the appellant’s speedy trial argument by denying his petition for writ of prohibition, we will set forth the merits of his argument and…
