SHEPHERD, Circuit Judge.

Jose Frausto-Vasquez pled guilty to illegal reentry after deportation, in violation of 8 U.S.C. § 1326(a). At sentencing, the district court1 calculated a total offense level of 10 and a Category V criminal history, resulting in a Sentencing Guidelines range of 21 to 27 months imprisonment. The total offense level was based in part on the district court’s conclusion that Frausto-Vasquez had three prior convic*576tions for crimes of violence under United States Sentencing Commission, Guidelines Manual, § 2L1.2(b)(l)(E).
