Plaintiffs Hill and Wadley brought suit under § 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act, 29 U.S.C. § 185 (1982), alleging that Superior Electric Company (“Superi- or”) wrongfully discharged them in violation of the collective-bargaining agreement and that their respective unions breached their duty of fair representation. Georgia Power Company was joined on a pendent state claim of false imprisonment.
