hBeva Long appeals from the Commission’s denial of her claim for workers’ compensation benefits. She based her claim upon a back injury that she experienced in moving a client from a wheelchair to the bed while working for Superior Senior Care (“Superior”). Superior took the position that Long was an independent contractor, not an employee, and that, therefore, she was not covered by workers’ compensation. The Administrative Law Judge (“ALJ”) sided with Long in finding that she was an employee, not an independent contractor, but denied her claim for temporary-total…
