On September 29, 1999, we issued an opinion in this case in which we asked the Florida Supreme Court to answer certified questions regarding the interpretation of Florida law concerning the requirements for filing a written statement of a claim in a state probate proceeding within statutorily prescribed time periods. See May v. Illinois Nat'l Ins. Co., 190 F.3d 1200 (11th Cir.1999). The question is as follows:
