Beckwith v. Beckwith
Court of Civil Appeals of Alabama
1Opinion of the Court
This is a divorce case.
Husband and wife were divorced on December 21, 1984, ending a twenty-two year marriage. No children were born of the union. After an ore tenus hearing the trial court awarded each party one-half of the equity in the marital home, a vehicle, their individual IRA accounts, and awarded the wife $600 alimony per month for one year. The wife appeals, contending that the trial court committed reversible error in failing to award her permanent periodic alimony, and in failing to reserve the right to award alimony in the future. We disagree and affirm.
