| iQn 6 December 2007 the state filed a bill of information charging the defendant/appellant, Pamela S. Brown (“Brown”), with one count of theft in an amount over $500.00, a violation of La. R.S. 14:67. Brown entered a not guilty plea at her arraignment on 13 December 2007. On 29 January 2008 Brown was tried before a six-person jury that returned a verdict of guilty as charged. Sentencing was delayed for several months during which time Brown was attempting to pay restitution and a presentence investigation report was being prepared. By 9 *1239May 2008 she had paid full…
