Melton, Justice.
Following a jury trial, Dwight Simmons appeals his conviction for malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, theft by taking, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime,1 contending, among other things, that the trial court made numerous evidentiary *665errors and that he received ineffective assistance of counsel. For the reasons set forth below, we affirm.
