|2Pefendant, Freddie Banks, was charged by bill of information with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95.1 (Count 1) and possession of heroin between 200 and 400 grams in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966 C (Count 2).1 At his arraignment on September 21, 2009, he pled not guilty and subsequently filed a motion to suppress the evidence. The trial court denied the motion on May 12, 2011, and defendant filed a writ application -with this Court from this ruling.
