Gary Joiner appeals from a judgment in the amount of one million dollars entered upon the jury’s verdict in favor of John Lane. For the reasons set forth below, we affirm.

This case involves an intentional tort' arising out of a shooting incident in which Lane suffered serious and permanent injuries. At trial, the issues of liability and damages were hotly contested.
