This appeal requires us to address, apparently for the first time, several provisions contained in New York’s Franchised Motor Vehicle Dealer Act (the “Dealer Act”), codified at New York Vehicle and Traffic Law sections 460-473. The plaintiff, Beck Chevrolet Co., Inc., is the proprietor of a Chevrolet dealership of the same name (the corporation and dealership are referred to hereinafter collectively as “Beck.”).
