This is a suit for a declaratory judgment under the Nebraska public meetings law, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-1408 to 84-1414 (Reissue 1987). The plaintiff, James R. Marks, a resident and citizen of Valley County, Nebraska, sought a judgment declaring that the action of the Judicial Nominating Commission for Judge of the County Court, 20th Judicial District, at its meeting held on March 27, 1987, was void and that the defendants be enjoined from violating the Nebraska public meetings law. The defendants are the nominating commission and the members of the commission.
