JORDAN, Circuit Judge.
I. Overview
A jury awarded Roberts Technology Group (“RTG”) $3 million in a breach-of-contract suit against Curwood, Tnc. In response to the verdict, Curwood filed a motion for judgment as a matter of law. It argued that the verdict should be set aside because RTG had failed to present sufficient evidence to establish the net profits attributable to the alleged breach. The District Court granted the motion and ordered a new -trial solely on the issue of damages. At the conclusion of that second trial, the jury awarded $971,429 to RTG. That lower sum prompted this…
