Upon an affidavit made before R. L. Nelson, Jr., as “police justice and ex-officio a justice of the peace,” charging him with an offense “against the peace and dignity of the State of Mississippi and the ordinances of the City of Belzoni, ’ ’ the appellant was arrested under a warrant which commanded the executing officer to have him before the “police justice and ex-officio justice of the peace of the City of Belzoni” to answer the charge contained in the affidavit, and was thereafter convicted of said charge and sentenced “to pay a fine of $100 and all costs of court, and also to serve no…
