This appeal involves the 180-day rule of MCL 780.131; MSA 28.969(1). On February 4, 1982, a criminal complaint was filed in Jackson County against defendant charging him with a January 2, 1982, breaking and entering of an occupied dwelling, MCL 750.110; MSA 28.305. On the date of the offense defendant was apparently an escaped prisoner from State Prison of Southern Michigan.

Defendant was arraigned on February 8, 1982. Defendant’s preliminary examination was held on March 10, 1982, after several adjournments, with defendant being bound over to circuit court as charged.…
