Appeal from an order of the Supreme Court (Ellison, J.), entered March 5, 1998 in Schuyler County, which granted petitioner’s application pursuant to General Municipal Law § 50-e (5) for leave to serve a late notice of claim.

In March 1991, petitioner was a 12-year-old sixth grader in defendant Watkins Glen Central School District (hereinafter the School District).
