This was a creditors’ bill, brought by David Preston, Samuel A. Kean and James Payne, a firm engaged in banking business, in Chicago, under the name and style of Preston, Kean & Co., against Gilbert A. Colby, Clinton H. Colby and Schuyler S. Gardner, a firm doing business as Colby, Gardner & Co. The bill was based upon a judgment, by confession, rendered in the circuit court of Cook county, December 17, 1881, in favor of the complainants, and against the defendants, for the sum of $3320.67.
