In 1894 a firm contracted to supply the city of Bayonne with water for use by its inhabitants over a term of years, renewable for additional terms at the option of the complainant. The contract has been renewed, until now, if it is in force at all it will not expire before 1929, for one purpose, 1944 for another, and not then, the complainant maintains, if it elects to continue it in conformity with its provisions.
