—Judgment unanimously affirmed. Memorandum: Defendant appeals from a judgment convicting him after a jury trial of assault in the first degree (Penal Law § 120.10 [1]) and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree (Penal Law § 265.02 [1]). Contrary to defendant’s contention, the conviction is supported by legally sufficient evidence that the victim sustained a serious physical injury. The trauma surgeon who treated the victim testified that the victim suffered lacerations into his muscle tissue that required suturing and resulted in permanent scarring (see, People v Perez, 184 AD2d…
