This suit is brought for the recovery of damages arising out of a fire which destroyed the Lafayette Hotel, in the City of Allentown, on Jan. 23, 1926. The plaintiff occupied room No. 38, which was located opposite the elevator on the fourth floor of the building. He was not a transient guest at the hotel, but had occupied a room therein for about seven years, latterly for a period of three years.
