E. I. Du Pont de Nemours & Co., a corporation, brought suit-in the District Court of the United States for the *581Eastern District of Virginia, against the Richmond Guano Company to recover the value of certain nitrate of soda stolen from the plaintiff by one W. B. Tredwell, and sold by him to the defendant.
