As the caption indicates, these are actions brought by the Reverend Murphy Davis on behalf of Jack Howard Potts. The pleadings and evidence indicate that Mr. Potts is currently under sentences of death from the Superior Courts of Cobb and Forsyth Counties, Georgia. Those sentences are currently scheduled to be carried out on Thursday, June 5, 1980. Presently before the court are the petitioner’s motion for a hearing, motion for leave to proceed as next friend, motion for stay of execution, and petition for a writ of habeas corpus.
