KOONTZ, C.J.

In this child custody case, the trial court granted a petition to transfer custody of a minor child from her father to her mother. The father raises two issues in this appeal: (1) whether there was a material change in circumstances so that the best interests of the child dictated that custody be transferred from the father to the mother, and (2) whether the trial court erred in allowing the mother to introduce evidence of circum*33stances which existed before the prior custody decrees. Finding no error, we affirm.
