BETTS, District Judge.

This is a question of lien on a bankrupt’s effects for costs in the court of chancery of both counsel and solicitor. The petitioner named in his inventory, as part of his effects, three promissory notes drawn by R. F. Harrison, amounting to $400. The petition was prepared by the attorney claiming the lien, and was filed the 18th or February. On the 7th of February a suit in chancery had been commenced against the bankrupt and his former partner, Pinkney, and the attorney was employed to defend that suit.
