SWEIGERT, District Judge.

Libelant, a longshoreman employed by California Stevedore & Ballast Company, a stevedore company, was injured while working on board a vessel owned by Schulte & Bruns, K. G., and time chartered to Wallenius Line, also known as Rederi Ab Walltank. •

Libelant alleges that, while engaged in doing stevedoring work on shipowners’ Vessel, he stepped upon a hatch cover, defectively supported and in an unsea- worthy condition, and fell, thereby sustaining certain personal injuries.
