FLAUM, Circuit Judge.
In May 1990 a jury convicted David Be-langer of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and being a felon in possession of a firearm. At sentencing, the district court determined that Belanger had been previously convicted of two controlled substance felonies, and therefore sentenced him under the career offender provisions of the Sentencing Guidelines. See U.S.S.G. § 4B1.1. Belanger received a twenty-five year sentence for the drug offense, and a concurrent five-year term for the firearm charge.
