Proceeding pursuant to CPLR article 78 (transferred to this court by *793order of the Supreme Court, entered in Saratoga County) to review a determination of respondent State Department of Social Services which denied petitioner’s application for Medicaid benefits.

The issue before us is whether respondents properly denied petitioner’s medical assistance application because Linnea Lundgren is not a resident of New York.
