A few days before the day fixed for the recent Democratic primary election, question arose as to whether a voter who could read his ballot, and was not physically unable to mark it, had the right to have a person go into the polling booth with him to aid him in the preparation of his ballot. An opinion which had been given by the Attorney General to the chairman of the Democratic State Central Committee had been understood to be in affirmance of such right, and the district attorney for the parish of Orleans had given expression to a contrary opinion, and the Governor had considered the point…
