The Social Security Act establishes many ways for children to recover benefits on their father’s account. See Trammell v. Bowen, 819 F.2d 167, 168 (7th Cir.1987). After Frank Jones died in 1983, Lucy Brown filed an application for benefits on behalf of Atlanda, Frank, and Amber Brown, who she said were Frank Jones’s children, bom between 1969 and 1972. Lucy Brown sought to establish eligibility under 42 U.S.C. § 416(h)(2)(A), which provides that children eligible to inherit property from the insured person under the intestate succession laws of the state where they…
