Tbis action was brought by tbe plaintiffs to recover of tbe defendants tbe possession of a certain tract of land, or a portion thereof, in the county of Lenoir, called “Mon-tieello,” and which is fully described in tbe complaint. ' Tbe plaintiffs claim tbe land as tbe children of William W. Carra- way, upon, tbe ground tbat, by virtue of tbe execution of a power given by Louis Whitfield to Snoad B.
