Defendant, Thomas Greene, was charged by indictment with rape, indecent liberties with a child, burglary, aggravated battery and attempted murder. Following a bench trial defendant was found guilty of rape and aggravated battery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1973, ch. 38, pars. 11 — 1 and 12 — 4), and received concurrent sentences of 25 to 35 years and 3 to 9 years respectively.
