The appellee, Dorothy Ross-Lawhon, filed a petition in the Probate Court of Pulaski County seeking appointment as guardian of the person and of the estate of her granddaughter, Gabrielle Lawhon-Dyer. Appellee already had been awarded temporary custody of the child by the Juvenile Court of Ouachita County.
